About:
Stephen Daniels, one of Salem's earliest citizens, lived in the center of what was then a rustic fishing and shipping settlement; the 'wild west' of the English world.
Tour his house and neighborhood, among Salem's oldest.
Led by an architectural historian, you'll start inside a c1667 house before a meandering 1-mile neighborhood loop. This walking tour will highlight the ancient features of the earliest Salem settlement and landscape still visible.
Note: due to current COVID guidelines, all guests are required to show proof of vaccination prior to the start of the tour and wear masks while inside the Daniels House.

The Silsbee family, the second owners of the Daniels House in the late 18th/early 19th century, were one of Salem's prominent families at the height of the city's world influence. Back in their day Salem was a booming shipping and trading town. On this tour of maritime-era Salem, led by an architectural historian, we'll start inside their c1756 Parlor before a 1-mile neighborhood loop. We'll trace the life of one of Salem’s prominent families and their influence on its international fame.
